 Environmental Alternatives grew from one 6-bed home in 1981 to programs serving 500 children in fourteen counties.
We received children from 38 counties, plus out-of-state, tribal, and private placements.
EA offers emergency and long term residential care for infants through eighteen year olds. Besides neglected and delinquent children, we accept: handicapped, developmentally
disabled, medically fragile, and pregnant teens & child.

A streamlined admission policy accommodates placement agencies who need to make arrangements immediately.
We can usually screen and authorize admission during the initial phone contact. Access to the system is made through any EA social worker, group home or county liaison worker. We can further assist counties by arranging contracts for emergency shelter services.
