Employee of the Month: Jeanne Harvey

Our November employee of the month is Jeanne Harvey! Prior to her current position with us as a FFA Social Worker, Jeanne worked for Tuolumne and Amador CPS for several years. Through her position with CPS, she was able to build a relationship with EA, particularly Office Manager Rhonda Evans and Social Worker Jennifer Gilliam.

"As a placement worker I always opted to use EA homes, as they provided a high level of professionalism, welcoming foster homes, and assistance with transportation and visitation."

Employee of the Month

In a fortuitous alignment of fate, once Jeanne left her position with the county, our Jackson office turned out to be in need of qualified professionals. She was quickly added to the team, and the rest, as they say, is history. Read on to learn more about how she practices self care, what her best day on the job looks like, and more!

What do you wish people knew about working in your field?

How wonderful and amazing it is to meet so many selfless, loving, and generous foster parents who open their homes to children in need.

How do you practice self care?

I enjoy spending time with my children and watching them play sports. I also love to cook for my family and friends; feeding them brings me great joy.

What does your best day on the job look like?

A great day on the job is arriving at work with a full schedule. Keeping busy at the office means we're helping the counties, our foster children, and our foster homes. This can be a tireless job, but at the end of every day, you still know you've helped others.

What's a hidden talent you have, or something about you that would surprise most people?

Seventeen years ago, I was a single mother before marrying my husband. At the time, it was difficult and challenging in so many ways. But in the end, it made me a stronger woman and mother, and a more compassionate social worker.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I feel truly blessed to be a part of the EA family. I love that I get to look forward to coming to work every day, and I really appreciate the relationships I have with my coworkers and foster families.
