Here at EA Family Services, we’re lucky to work with an incredible group of foster parents. Today we’re bringing you an interview with a foster mother that we’ve worked with for over twenty years. Prior to her position as one of our amazing social work supervisors, Lori Matthews worked for many years in the field of mental health. Her work ethic and passion for helping others has been an inspiration to those around her, making her an obvious choice for this month’s Leadership Spotlight piece. Our featured employee this month wears a lot of hats within our organization. Currently serving as our ILP Coordinator, Plumas Commons Supervisor & Case Manager, and THP Case Manager, Leaf Van Pelt came to EA Family Services after leaving a nonprofit with some unsavory financial practices.

Although it's true that we're deeply entrenched in the "April showers" of spring, the summer season is just around the corner. Along with the rising temperatures and sharp uptick in the sales of Otterpops, the start of summer also means the opportunity for kids to attend summer camp. For many parents and caregivers, it can be difficult to decide whether camp is right for their kids.
