Employee of the Month: Hannah Ellis
What originally made you want to work with EA?
My dad was an EA Social Worker for many years so I grew up around EA. I even visited the Group Homes with my dad when I was a kid. When I turned 21, he suggested I apply at Nighthawk Group Home. So I did, and the rest is history!
Describe what your best day on the job looks like:
I have a daughter with special needs, so I am not able to work as much as I used to. Any day I get to come in and see everyone is a great day!
What do you wish people knew about working in your field?
Sometimes it may not feel like you are making a difference. Then, years later you will hear from a previous client who had positive memories in the home. That makes it all worth it!
How do you practice self care?
I enjoy going for walks in the orchard next to my home with my husband, children and dog.
What's a hidden talent you have, or something about yourself that would surprise most people?
I went through school in the Spanish Immersion Program. I am a little rusty but I can speak and understand Spanish.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I have been with EA since 2010 and I love my job and everyone I work with here at Nighthawk STRTP!
