Employee of the Month: Lisa Florence

What originally made you want to work with EA?Lisa Florence

I moved from Texas to Clovis, CA and was looking for something part-time to keep me busy. My friend Tina, from the Tracy office, asked me if I would be interested in recruiting in the Clovis/Fresno area for EA. It was something that was completely out of my box but I started working recruitment events and enjoyed meeting all the people.

Describe what your best day on the job looks like:

The best day on the job for me is being able to place children in our great EA Resource Family Homes. To watch the children placed in these homes after enduring so much trauma and the way they flourish and respond to the love and nurturing that our Resource parents give is amazing.

What do you wish people knew about working in your field?

Working in foster care is difficult, as well as rewarding. It is not all bad days and sad stories. There are many success stories for the children as well as the Bio-Parents.

How do you practice self care?

Self care to me looks like going on a cruise or all inclusive vacation somewhere on a beach with my Husband. We love to disconnect and unwind laying on a beach in the sun (this has been difficult since COVID-19 ). I spend time reading and when it is warm I spend time in our pool.

What's a hidden talent you have, or something about yourself that would surprise most people?

Something that would surprise most people is that I played Tennis at the collegiate level after playing all thru Junior High and High school. I haven't picked up a tennis racquet in years but would eventually like to get back to playing recreationally.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I love working for EA, and all the other employees are great and so friendly. I love that we are all like a big family. Thank you so much to the Administrative team for this honor.
