Employee of the Month: Paola Leon Piraquive, Lead Housing Coordinator

How long have you been with EA? What roles have you had? paola leon piraquive and family

Three years. I started as a Housing Coordinator helping move our THP clients into their new homes. As the team lead I have trained our two new HC's and continue to assist our team.

What originally made you want to work with EA?

I have always enjoyed helping others and when my sister Daisy let me know that EA had an opening, I was excited to continue helping.

Describe what your best day on the job looks like.

The best day on the job is when I work with a client and find them their home. Move-in day is always the best because they are so excited to start their new chapter. You can really see how grateful they are to start new and in their own place!

What do you wish people knew about working in your field?

I would wish that people knew the amount of work we do in our field. I joke around and say we are realtors always looking for new homes, but that we are also professional movers. We really help the clients from the start, by calling around and even "door knocking" to helping them pack their entire life in our vans or even U-Hauls.

How do you practice self care?

I practice self care by setting limitations at home. I take into consideration the fact that I get to work from home and silence my phone after my work day is done. I also spend my time with my family.

What's a hidden talent you have, or something about yourself that would surprise most people?

A hidden talent I have is that I'm double-jointed in both my arms. I also love to sing, but don't put me on the spot.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I have truly enjoyed working with EA and hope to keep changing our youth's lives!
