May is National Foster Care Month, a time to honor the foster parents, mentors, child welfare professionals, family members, volunteers, and countless other incredible individuals who work tirelessly to ensure a bright future for the children and youth in foster care.

April is Kids Garden Month! Although it's only April, here in California the sunny skies and plentiful blooms have us feeling like spring has officially sprung. If you're looking for a fun, healthy activity that'll get everyone outside together, consider gardening!

Although it's true that we're deeply entrenched in the "April showers" of spring, the summer season is just around the corner. Along with the rising temperatures and sharp uptick in the sales of Otterpops, the start of summer also means the opportunity for kids to attend summer camp. For many parents and caregivers, it can be difficult to decide whether camp is right for their kids. However, although every child is unique, we believe there are many universal benefits of a summer camp experience. Today we're taking you through our top ten benefits!

What originally made you want to work with EA? I originally applied because I enjoy working with children, everyday I get to be part of the children’s life and it is a wonderful feeling. Describe what your best day on the job looks like: Going into work and visiting with my coworkers and then being able to see the kids.

The brilliant and insightful author and activist, Maya Angelou, once said, “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” As professionals who work in the field of foster care, we likely know the truth and importance of this quote and the resilience it represents. Though our work is, at times, punctuated by challenges, discouragements, and road blocks, there are many successes that keep us in the ring for another round.
