Although our Foster Family and Group Home programs have been extremely successful, not every child will flourish within them.

When we see youth displaying behaviors or mental health issues that are more difficult to manage, we offer our Intensive Treatment Foster Care (ITFC) and Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) programs as an alternative.

Within both programs, the overarching goal is to help the child address their actions, and learn the tools to replace negative behaviors with positive ones. We support the youth and help equip them with the skills they need to succeed in school, at home, and within their community.

Specially trained foster family.

Our ITFC and TFC programs are clinical interventions, which includes placement in homes with specially trained foster parents.

Having undergone rigorous training, these individuals are well equipped to handle even severe mental, emotional, or behavioral problems. Children are placed in these supportive settings until reunited with family, or until a permanent placement through adoption is secured.

The foster household is viewed as the primary treatment setting, and these foster parents are trained and supported by EA staff to be able to implement the goals outlined in the child’s treatment plan. These might include community Integration, eliminating negative behaviors, and meeting the emotional, physical, and/or educational needs of the child. Interested in more information?
