Employee of the Month: Kelly Kiernan, Lead Care Manager

What originally made you want to work with EA? Lead Care Manager Kelly Kiernan

I've wanted to work at EA ever since I learned about the organization. Being adopted at 2 years old, I was very interested in the programs EA offered foster youth. Once I decided that I wanted to complete my Master's in Social Work, I was ready to start gaining social work experience in different areas. I originally had my eye on Transitional Housing Program case management but learned about CalAIM when calling the office to get more information.

Describe what your best day on the job looks like:

My best day on the job is typically very busy. I enjoy being able to provide resources and help members who need Community Supports (CS) and Enhanced Care Management (ECM) services. I love hearing their stories and being able to help them better their situations. I also enjoy sharing resources with other Case Managers in the office.

What do you wish people knew about working in your field?

I wish people had more knowledge of additional housing resources in the Sacramento area, specifically for males. They can be challenging to find.

How do you practice self care?

I listen to music and take time to make sure I do my nails. Those are two ways I practice self care.

What's a hidden talent you have, or something about yourself that would surprise most people?

I love video editing and creating digital flyers.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I'm so excited to be working at non-profit organization that is providing the various services we provided to our community!
