Employee of the Month: Breanna Cosgrove-Ramsaur, Office Manager

What originally made you want to work with EA? Breanna Cosgrove-Ramsaur

I originally heard about EA from my mother Lisa, who is a transporter; she told me a lot of wonderful things about the agency and how much she loved the honest work that people were doing here. I spent some time on the EA website, researched the foster care system, and learned a lot about what agencies like EA can do and I was so amazed. When my mother told me there was an opening for Office Manager in Yuba City, I was immediately interested. After learning about EA, I knew I wanted to work here.

Describe what your best day on the job looks like:

My best days at work are when all of the Yuba City staff is here! It may get crowded and loud, but you can truly feel the community, love, and support when everyone is here and working together. I think that we have built a wonderful little community in our office where we can all feel like family and depend on one-another—even on those busy days.

What do you wish people knew about working in your field?

I wish people knew how much work goes into all of the "little things" that we do. Social Workers, Office Managers, Support Counselors, Transporters, and more all put our efforts together on so many aspects of our work. It is wonderful to be able to work with such an amazing team that can work together and make so many great things happen.

How do you practice self care?

I practice self-care in a lot of little ways because I truly believe that taking care of yourself is a great way to make sure you can take care of others! I have a book subscription where I get a few books each month, because I love to read in my downtime to relax. I also enjoy thrift shopping, seeing movies in the theater, coloring, attending community events, and going on small dates with my wife, Noel.

What's a hidden talent you have, or something about yourself that would surprise most people?

A hidden talent of mine is that I make custom piñatas! I started out just making one for my niece's birthday when she was little, and then started to make them for lots of events and birthdays. I do it solely for fun and because I just love to see little kids' faces when they have their favorite characters or their name on their own custom piñata.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I would love to say thank you to EA for having me as employee of the month and that I truly appreciate this agency! I feel very blessed and appreciative that I have this job and can look forward to coming into my office every day.
