Employee of the Month: Kitty Cannon
What originally made you want to work with EA?
I originally took the position as Office Manger in Grass Valley to be closer to my three children who were 3 & 5 at the time. I was working an hour away at my previous job!! Yes, I have twins a boy & a girl:) My twins are now 17 & my 5 year old son is now 19. Cherish every moment with your kiddos, because time really does fly by and before you know it they are off to college!
Describe what your best day on the job looks like:
There are so many events that would make for a perfect day at work! For starters it would be my (I'm pretty possessive of my staff) awesome Social Worker Kate Pomeroy (Kate is fervent & compassionate to all she serves) delivering me an almond milk latte when she comes into the office. Usually she has a seat in the rocking chair & we discuss the latest, greatest & not so great happenings on her caseload. Next up, I would be greeted by my amazing AB12 Social Worker Gina Dwyer (the passion & dedication she has for her clients is steadfast) & we too discuss the current events on her caseload. I love to hear the stories that my transporter Kelli-Anglim shares with me when she comes back from transporting a client. She truly loves our kiddos just as much as we do! I love being a witness to a new Resource Family meeting their first placement. I also love being a spectator when a client is reunified with their parent. I truly could not be employee of the month without recognizing my team. My team helps to make up my best day at work :)

You can make a difference!!!
How do you practice self care?
I love going to Tahoe & swimming in the lake. There is just something about that lake that just melts my stress away!
