Employee of the Month: Daisy Leon Piraquive

What originally made you want to work with EA? Daisy Leon Piraquive, Housing Coordinator

When I was searching for a new career opportunity, EA caught my attention by how much they care about the families they work with. Once being part of the EA team, I truly enjoyed my job and the people that I was working with. I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity.

Describe what your best day on the job looks like:

The best day on the job would be when nothing goes wrong. By wrong, I mean I am able to find THP placement quickly. The application process goes smoothly and I am able to get a move-in day as quickly as possible. On move-in day, everyone involved is on time and all paperwork is read and understood correctly. The best part of my job is how grateful the youth are when they have a place to call their own.

What do you wish people knew about working in your field?

I wish people knew the stories that I have been told by the youth I have worked with and the struggles that they have faced. Some of them have been through so much but are working so hard to get their own life on the right path.

How do you practice self care?

I love spending time with my family and friends. Taking weekend trips and disconnecting.

What's a hidden talent you have, or something about yourself that would surprise most people?

A hidden talent that I have is that I can draw very well. I have been told that I can create something beautiful if I take the time on it.
